Day 1: Mission to Guatemala

On the Memorial of Bl. Junipero Serra, our far-flung group of 17 missionaries departs from our respective points origin, to embark upon a 10-day mission. According to Fr. A’s homily this morning, Bl. Junipero would say, “Always forward”, which apparently is the direction we are also going.

We arrive in Guatemala City later tonight, will stay the night in a hotel, and in the morning we will make our way to San Lucas Toliman, near Lake Atitlan.

The Grand Canyon?

This is my first mission, but our group consists of some veterans. Since I’ve never done anything like this before, I have no expectations. Since I have no kids in tow, I have very little anxiety about any hiccups we may encounter.

Please pray for the success of our mission!
