Tomorrow the Quartermaster marks another Birthday

friarBut please don’t sing! I am too modest and easily prone to embarrassment. I am far too humble for any hullabaloo. (Do you detect any false modesty [because if I were truly modest, would I be posting this]? I thought not! {wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more, say no more}).

Perhaps, if you are inclined, say a prayer that the coming year is as blessed as the last.

And by blessed I mean that, despite all of the anxieties and handicaps secondary to being a fallen creature living in a fallen world, God has seen fit to bestow His Love on me and my family, and poured out His graces upon us. He has shown that by asking for the gift of Faith, He leads away from all the things that cause despair and sadness. The problems of the world (and our part in it) remain, but since we know that eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, it is possible to live joyfully in His Light.

To finally begin to approach that point where doing what separates one from God is what causes the most anguish and pain, is a Gift for which I am profoundly grateful and utterly undeserving. And I know that it is through the prayers of so many wonderful friends and loved ones that this is so. Thank you!
